Rebrand: Welcome to the new Keep Calm & Lego

Some of you may be new to my blog, some of you are not. If you're not, welcome back and thank you for staying but if you are new, welcome. So glad that you found my blog and I hope that it brings something new to your life.

Why did I start blogging?

To tell you the truth, this is now my 5th time starting a blog. It has been something I have always wanted to do. I love fashion, art, music, beauty, books and being creative. I love expressing myself through this medium of media plus being degreed from LISOF in fashion media it would be super handy.

But in the past, there was so much holding me back from doing what I love; comparison, doubt, worry and my confidence in my ability to create. I started focusing on other things that I thought were important because I thought I had a time-line for success.

With that in my mind, the one thing I do is procrastinate with posting. I will write the blogs, make the video, take pictures, LITERALLY do EVERYTHING but then I don’t post. I would think ‘no one will see this’ or if they do ‘no one will like it’, basically any possible reason why I thought I shouldn’t do it, it was in my brain.

So, what makes this one different?

I literally couldn’t run away from it. Every time I set a goal, people would compliment my pictures and videos or even ask about the blog, they would get excited about it. It was always just there, right in front of my face.

Then with the support of my circle when I had doubts, they would come through and help. I have a friend who is a graphic designer who helped me with my logo design for free. My mom who is not tech-savvy, let me teach her photography to the point where now she watches tutorials on Youtube (Below are some of the pictures she took). When I started to work with the Wix Template, I got excited. From that I thought “Ok sis, you have to believe in yourself now. Literally, God has put everything in front of you, He believes in you, just do it.”

What to expect from this rebrand?

So I’m doing it. This is the new, improved Keep Calm & Lego on both this blog and my Youtube channel. My intension is just to create and have fun in the journey, the process, not just worry about the outcome. My intentions for my platforms is to be a place to escape and hopefully find something to encourage you, whether it be on what to wear to a wedding in summer or market that sells vegan milkshakes, I don’t know but mostly to find hidden gems in South Africa. We constantly see these cool things on social media but there in America, Europe or wherever. I want to find that for you here and how to do it on a budget.

I’m excited about this new chapter and I’m glad that you decided to tag along on this new ride.
